Editorial Policy
How we research, write, review, and update every health guide.
Health content can affect real decisions, so we hold ourselves to clear standards. This page explains how every Velqonartixa article is researched, written, reviewed, and updated.
1. Sourcing
We base our guides on high-quality, publicly available sources, prioritizing:
- U.S. government health agencies, including the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), the National Institutes of Health (NIH) and its institutes, the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA), and the Dietary Guidelines for Americans (USDA/HHS).
- Independent expert bodies such as the U.S. Preventive Services Task Force (USPSTF).
- Major professional and nonprofit medical organizations, such as the American Heart Association, the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists, and the American Academy of Sleep Medicine.
- Peer-reviewed research, especially systematic reviews and large clinical studies.
Key sources are listed at the bottom of each article.
2. Writing
We write in plain U.S. English for a general adult audience. We explain medical terms, avoid sensational headlines, and never promise cures. When the science is uncertain or experts disagree, we say so.
3. Review
Before publishing, each article is checked for accuracy against its sources, for clarity, and for safety—including clear guidance on when to seek professional care. Articles about mental health include crisis resources.
4. Updates and corrections
Health recommendations change. We review our guides regularly and show a "last reviewed" date on every article. If you find an error, please tell us through our contact page. We correct factual errors promptly and note significant changes.
5. Independence and advertising
Velqonartixa may display advertising, including ads served by Google AdSense, to support the site. Advertisers have no influence on our topics or content, and ads are always visually separate from articles. We do not accept payment for favorable coverage, and we do not sell health products.
6. Use of technology
Our editors may use digital tools, including AI-assisted tools, to help with research organization, outlines, and proofreading. Every published article is reviewed by our editorial team for accuracy, sourcing, and usefulness before it goes live, and our team is responsible for everything we publish.
